Linfox and the Human Resources team is seeking an experienced Specialist – Transport Labour to be based at its Essendon Fields Group Head Office. This position reports into the Transport Labour Manager and will work under our Human Resources – Transport Labour Team.

This role will see you work in collaboration with our Site Managers and Support Staff across multiple sites within the Victorian Metropolitan area to ensure Linfox driver requirements are scheduled in a safe, productive and timely manner.  As a Specialist – Transport Labour, you will be expected to deliver a high-end service partnership to the business whilst meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Reporting to the Transport Labour Manager, your responsibilities will include, however not limited to:

  • Scheduling of casual transport labour to ensure maximum availability and rostering,
  • Facilitate peak strategies and advise on effective use of current casual labour or agency requirement,
  • Manage employee training and compliance, from bookings, data capture and reporting,
  • Supporting the resolution in IR matters, including challenging conflict situations and disciplinary action,
  • Administrate the uniform orders, training and uniform costs, capturing casual driver hours, and tending to casual labour pay queries,
  • Support planning for peak labour uplifts, new contracts and attrition,
  • Ensure driver fatigue is scheduled effectively within state compliance,
  • Working towards achieving agreed KPI’s,
  • Being the main contact for casual labour pool employees, including coordinating, incidents and last-minute labour requirement changes,
  • Assisting the Transport Labour Manager – Human Resources,
  • Participating and committing to Safety Standards and COR Requirements at all times;
  • Ensuring that the Linfox LIFT Values are part of the operational culture and all decisions and actions. 

 

About you

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in Transport and Logistics Industry and in a similar role or environment,
  • Significant experience in a labour scheduling and/or management role,
  • Managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships,
  • A team player and able to self-motivate,
  • Possess well-rounded knowledge of Regulations, EBA’s, Awards, and relevant legislation,
  • Process driven with the ability to multi-task through time management,
  • Highly developed communication skills to engage with various levels of stakeholders,
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and familiar with payroll systems.
