About the position

We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to be based at our NSW State Head Office in Erskine Park. This is a pivotal position that will see you bring a collaborative team approach to support key business needs.  

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take the lead on a business critical and state of the art automation project requiring you to lead by example across multiple work streams and successfully build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Utilising your expansive operational knowledge and expertise, you will be overseeing key areas such as safety, customer relations and profitability whilst providing and executing solutions in new areas that support and strengthen Linfox value-add for this Project.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Design and represent warehouse operations objectives whilst considering future proof alternatives
  • Work closely with process SME’s to develop design and layouts
  • Develop clear requirements for vendor partners based on design
  • Providing seamless customer service to the network in addition to timely communication and reporting
  • The identification of any risks/issues and the ability to manage these accordingly
  • Project management across all major work streams to ensure project delivery is completed within set time-frames and budgets while managing expectations and ensuring clear project governance throughout
  • Achieve safety targets and strong leadership of the Vision Zero strategy

About you

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Autocad or other drafting expertise in addition to simulation software is desirable
  • Demonstrated capability in large/complex physical design development and deployments in key innovation and automation
  • Strong project methodology and quality assurance skills and disciplines
  • Prior delivery of various warehouse automation solutions within a supply chain operational environment
  • A strong hands-on leadership style and delivery orientation with the dynamic ability to collaborate with all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated prior success in delivering large implementation and transition type projects
  • Strong written and technical documentation skills (MS Office and Project)
  • Prince2, PMP, PMI or similar project management qualifications are highly desirable
  • Tertiary education in Engineering or Logistics
  • A commitment to the Linfox Safety standards and values
