What does the job look like?

Based in West Melbourne we have a casual role for an Operations Coordinator until early 2022.  This is the first point of call for customers, drivers, and Linfox sites. They are the eyes and ears of the Control Room. This role is responsible for tracking all intermodal movements, coordinating recoveries for service issues, and proactively providing professional communications to the customer and Linfox sites. Key areas:

  • Track loads end to end including prior to the timeslot, whilst the driver is on site, and confirming that the despatch or delivery has been completed.
  • Proactively resolve operational issues with the best solution for the customer and driver’s safety in mind. This may include safety incidents, rejections, delays on site, or driver behaviour not aligned with Linfox values.
  • Providing proactive verbal and written communication to the customer when there are service impacts.
  • Provide accurate and detailed reporting on DODD or DOT service KPIs for Key Customer Accounts.
  • Monitor Temperature Controlled loads and immediately action any defects or breaches.
  • Drive new technology is adoption by subcontractor drivers (MT Data).
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are met on customer queries. This includes ETAs, POD requests, investigating rejected stock. Customers may query via email or on our Customer Portal (CRM).  

Are you the one?

The role is casual, working 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The successful person will need to be flexible to start work between 5 am and 12 noon. Ideally, we are looking for some experience/exposure within 3PL/transport operations. You can demonstrate:

  • Intermediate  computer skills – experience with TMS highly regarded
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the Melbourne metro area
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide timely, safe and effective advice to drivers on the road
  • Proven experience in a similar role involving transport load planning, driver allocating or fleet allocating desirable
  • Highly professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a very high-pressure environment
