What does the job look like?

The Credit Team Lead plays a critical role in driving the financial health of Armaguard by leading the Credit and Collections stream within the Order to Cash department. Reporting to the Order to Cash Manager, this position is pivotal to ensuring strong cashflow performance across ANZ, managing high-volume customer accounts, and leading a team of three Credit Controllers.

This role is perfect for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. You’ll lead by example—actively supporting your team in managing collections for major accounts while driving stakeholder engagement and reducing aged debt and bad debt risk. Beyond leadership, you’ll be deeply involved in shaping robust credit risk frameworks and spearheading process improvements across credit and accounts receivable.

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead by example in managing collections for major accounts while guiding the Credit & Collections team to achieve stretch KPIs and deliver strong results on their portfolios.
  • Actively support day-to-day operations, including account allocation, debtor management, and resolution of complex collection issues.
  • Partner closely with Billing, Customer Service and Finance teams to actively manage dispute resolution.
  • Apply and maintain robust credit risk frameworks whilst meeting SLA’s.
  • Ensure accurate and timely EOM reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance collections, invoicing practices, and customer experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on automation, standardisation, and smart workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Champion compliance with finance standards and regulatory requirements (AASB, PCI, etc.), ensuring best practice across all credit and collection activities.
  • Foster team development and engagement, providing coaching, clear objectives, and support to create a high-performing, collaborative environment.

Are you the one?

You’re a confident finance professional with proven experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, or Collections and have experience in leading a team. You thrive on leading teams, building relationships, and delivering results. With a deep understanding of finance operations and stakeholder management, you’ll bring a strategic and customer-focused approach to credit leadership.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

  • At least 5 years of experience in credit or AR roles within a large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and finance systems.
  • Working understanding of accounting principles and credit risk assessment.
  • Track record of delivering improved DSO, collections performance, and cashflow outcomes.

Competencies:

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead through change and support team development.
  • Customer-focused mindset and collaborative work style.
