What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit currently have a full-time permanent opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team located in Cairns QLD. As a part of this role, you will be responsible for coordinating vehicle operations for the pickup and delivery of customer products, including route optimisation, safety & compliance requirements. This is a day shift role where you will be required to be flexible to rotate hours between 6am - 2pm and 7am - 3pm . Key areas:

  • Allocate daily freight schedules to drivers and oversee route optimisation data 
  • Communicate with drivers to ensure that all work is completed for the day in line with customer expectations and safety/compliance guidelines
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to manifests, delivery schedules, safety & compliance.
  • Proactively communicate with our customers to keep them updated about their scheduled deliveries and changes 
  • Complete regular yard walks and regular spot checks to support driver compliance 
  • Provide support across safety and compliance requirements such as driver fatigue management, pre-start and coupling/uncoupling checks

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a transport/logistics operations environment.
  • Previous knowledge of dangerous goods, load restraints and fatigue management will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide timely, safe and effective advice to drivers on the road
  • Strong customer and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Experience using Excel will be highly regarded
