What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit is currently seeking casual HC licenced drivers with rail transport experience to join their team based in Mackay, QLD. The shifts will vary from Monday through to Friday with hours usually being 5:00am - 10:00am and some Saturdays or as required by site. You will also be on call to cover any sick leave or annual leave within the team. You will be responsible for local deliveries and hand unloads with various freight from our major customers both locally & regionally.  Key areas:

• Deliver freight both locally and throughout the region
• Daily prestart checks, including refuelling & maintaining truck interior
• Ensure loads are restrained appropriately
• Completing hand unloads
• Communicate effectively with other drivers, supervisors & customers where needed
• Comply with Linfox’s coupling & uncoupling procedures
• Commit to Linfox Safety Standards at all times to ensure that Vision Zero is a daily focus

• Open HC licence
• Forklift license - preferred but not essential 
• Experience delivering containerised freight throughout the Melbourne region and beyond
• Strong attitude towards safety and customer satisfaction
• History of safe work practices & excellent communication
• Rail experience highly regarded but not essential
