What does the job look like? 

As a Transport Solutions Specialist at Linfox, you'll support the design and optimisation of transport solutions across our national network. Reporting to the Transport Solutions Manager and working within the Analytics, Design & Solutions (ADS) team, you'll analyse transport data, develop network models, and identify opportunities to improve fleet utilisation, efficiency, and cost outcomes.

You'll partner with commercial, operational, fleet, and safety teams to support new business tenders, contract renewals, and continuous improvement initiatives, delivering practical and data-driven transport solutions.

This role is onsite based out of our HQ in Essendon Fields (VIC) 

 

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Analyse transport and operational data to identify optimisation opportunities and improve network performance.
• Develop and evaluate transport solutions using network modelling, simulation, and route optimisation tools.
• Support new business tenders and contract renewals by producing transport models, resource requirements, and pricing inputs.
• Produce detailed cost models, productivity analysis, process maps, and resource planning recommendations.
• Apply knowledge of transport operations, fleet capability, NHVL, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements to ensure safe and executable solutions.
• Partner with business units, commercial teams, and operational stakeholders to develop innovative and practical transport strategies.
• Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Monitor implemented solutions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and further optimisation.

We're looking for a commercially minded transport and analytics professional who thrives on solving complex operational challenges. You'll combine strong transport operations knowledge with advanced analytical skills to develop practical, data-driven solutions that deliver value for both Linfox and our customers.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate: 

• Experience in transport operations, transport analytics, network optimisation, logistics engineering, solution design, or transport planning.
• Strong understanding of transport networks, fleet utilisation, and heavy vehicle regulations including NHVL and CoR requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and proven experience analysing and manipulating large datasets.
• Experience using transport modelling, route optimisation, simulation, or network design software.
• Exposure to Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes across multiple business functions.
• Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
