What does the job look like?

As the Operations Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of our GM3 General Freight contract, overseeing daily transport movements and ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently, and on time. Working Monday to Friday from 6am, you’ll manage a small fleet of Linfox trucks and subcontractors while maintaining strong relationships with our customer and drivers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising day-to-day transport operations, including planning and allocating loads
  • Ensuring all movements meet Chain of Responsibility (COR), load restraint, mass management, and compliance requirements
  • Coordinating with the GM3 warehouse to deliver seamless service for freight movements
  • Managing subcontractors and supporting drivers with guidance and feedback
  • Monitoring driver performance, compliance, and vehicle productivity
  • Responding to incidents, conducting investigations, and preparing reports
  • Maintaining accurate records including run sheets, axle weights, delays, and vehicle compliance
  • Supporting a positive workplace culture aligned to Linfox values

About you

You’re a proactive leader with solid transport knowledge who enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. You bring:

  • Experience supervising fleet and subcontractor operations in general freight or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of COR, fatigue management, load restraint, and heavy vehicle regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in mass management and compliance
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence with technology, including Transport Management Systems and MS Excel
  • A commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service
