What does the job look like?

Step into a high-profile leadership role running one of Australia’s largest tier-one retail distribution centres. Based in Somerton, this high-volume site operates 24 hours a day, Monday to Saturday.

As DC Manager, you’ll take full accountability for performance across Safety, Service, Cost, and People. You’ll drive commercial outcomes with full P&L ownership, strengthen customer partnerships, and lead a workforce of 700+ people in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This is a role where strong people leadership makes the difference. You’ll mentor leaders, foster engagement, and shape a motivated workforce to deliver at scale. Key areas:

  • Lead a 24/6 distribution centre to meet operational and contractual targets
  • Manage full P&L responsibility, including budgets, cost control, and continuous improvement
  • Develop leadership capability within the operations team through coaching and performance management
  • Ensure safety standards are met and compliance with WHS and COR requirements
  • Maintain effective relationships with senior customer stakeholders
  • Direct and support a workforce of 700+ to maintain operational excellence in a high-volume environment

Are you the one?

You are an accomplished DC Manager with proven experience in large-scale, high-volume operations. You thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing commercial accountability with strong people leadership, and have a track record of building capability while delivering operational excellence. You can demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership in large-scale DC, FMCG or retail logistics operations
  • Full P&L accountability, including budgeting, cost efficiency, and CI delivery
  • Success in coaching and developing leaders to build capability at scale
  • Skilled stakeholder management with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Experience leading large workforces through change and transformation
  • Advantageous: exposure to unionised environments
