What does the job look like?

As a Transport Allocator you will play a crucial role in our retail transport team making sure that our customer gets their deliveries on time every time. With your exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to multitask, you’ll play a key role in supporting our team by managing allocations, route planning, and dispatching deliveries across Melbourne’s metropolitan area during the afternoon shift. This position operates on a 4-days-on, 4-days-off rotating roster, commencing at 4:00 PM and finishing at 4:00 AM. Key areas:

  • Communicate effectively with drivers and internal stakeholders, providing clear instructions while fostering positive relationships
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to run sheets, delivery schedules, and compliance requirements
  • Monitoring drivers’ fatigue to ensure that they are compliant and fit to drive

We’ll provide comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing support to set you up for success. You can demonstrate:

  • Experience in transport load planning, driver coordination, or fleet allocation is a plus, it’s not a deal-breaker. What matters most is your positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail
  • Highly proficient computer skills and ability to pick things up quickly
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Melbourne metro and surrounding areas
  • Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a very high-pressure environment
