About the Role
We're looking for an experienced State Service Manager – South Australia and Northern Territory to lead and develop our Service Centre and vendor network across both regions. Reporting to the National Service Manager, this key leadership role is responsible for overseeing fleet maintenance operations at our Wingfield Workshop in South Australia and managing relationships with vendor service providers across the Northern Territory, ensuring safety, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
As the State Service Manager, you will directly oversee the Wingfield Workshop team and coordinate with external vendor service providers in the NT to ensure all fleet maintenance and repairs meet Linfox standards. You'll drive operational performance, financial discipline, and a strong culture of safety and teamwork across the region.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee day-to-day management of the Wingfield Workshop, ensuring compliance with fleet maintenance policies, NHVR standards, and quality service delivery.
· Manage vendor service provider relationships across the NT, ensuring alignment with Linfox standards and service level agreements.
· Drive financial performance and profitability across both operations, managing budgets, cost control, and resource planning.
· Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and key customers, providing proactive commercial and operational support.
· Ensure technical training, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning are delivered to the Wingfield Workshop team.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes, quality control, and service delivery.
· Champion the Vision ZERO safety culture through risk assessments, toolbox meetings, and workplace inspections.
· Promote Linfox's LIFT values and ensure they are embedded in the operational culture.
About You
You're a results-driven leader with a strong technical foundation and proven ability to influence and manage teams and external partners. Your commercial acumen, safety focus, and communication skills drive you to deliver outstanding results. Ideally, you'll bring:
· A Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification (essential), supported by leadership experience within a fleet maintenance or heavy vehicle workshop environment.
· Minimum 5 years' experience managing workshop operations.
· Demonstrated experience in managing P&L budgets and financial performance.
· Strong technical knowledge of trucks, trailers, and fleet maintenance standards.
· Experience managing external service providers or vendor relationships (advantageous).
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
· Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and the MS Office suite.
· A genuine commitment to safety, people development, and high-quality service outcomes.
