Maintenance Planner – Wingfield, SA

Here at Linfox, we believe that together, anything is possible. Utilise sophisticated technology to deliver everyday essentials and natural resources for Australia’s largest companies. Work with major customers across retail, healthcare, government and defence. Shape the future of logistics with industry‑leading innovations in safety, sustainability and efficiency. Build a career to be proud of. Expect all this and more when you join Linfox.

What does the role involve?

Join our South Australian Fleet team as the onsite Maintenance Planner based at our Wingfield workshop. This is a standalone position responsible for being the eyes and ears on the ground—conducting equipment inspections, coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and ensuring our trucks and trailers are safe, compliant and ready to support operations across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Reporting to the WA Service Manager, you will take ownership of the planning and execution of maintenance activities through our external vendor network. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting fleet equipment onsite to identify maintenance needs and safety requirements
  • Coordinating and scheduling repairs and servicing with external maintenance providers
  • Prioritising work based on safety, compliance and operational urgency
  • Raising and managing purchase orders for outsourced repair work
  • Maintaining strong, professional relationships with operational teams and service partners
  • Ensuring accurate completion of paperwork, compliance documentation and maintenance records
  • Providing technical advice and supporting consistent adherence to Linfox standards

This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, problem‑solving and being the central point of contact in a busy fleet environment where reliability and safety are paramount.

Are you the right fit?

We’re looking for someone with hands‑on mechanical or fleet maintenance knowledge who thrives in a practical, customer‑focused planning role. You will bring:

  • A mechanical trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (essential)
    – ideal for someone ready to step off the tools into a planning/coordination role
  • Experience in fleet maintenance, service advisory or workshop coordination (advantageous)
  • Exposure to heavy vehicles, trailers and transport equipment
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word), and SAP experience highly regarded
  • Excellent organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to work independently
  • The ability to read and interpret technical information, maintenance schedules and compliance requirements

If you enjoy bringing people together, solving problems and keeping equipment moving safely and efficiently, this could be your next step.
