What does the job look like?

As the IT Security Analyst, you’ll play a hands‑on role in protecting Linfox’s digital infrastructure by identifying, investigating, and responding to cyber threats. Reporting to the IT Security Operations Lead, this role is central to our front‑line defence—supporting continuous monitoring, threat detection, and fast incident response across our IT environment, while contributing to the uplift and maturity of our enterprise security capability.

This role is onsite based out of our HQ in Essendon Fields (VIC)

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring and analysing security events, network traffic, and system logs to identify threats, suspicious activity, and vulnerabilities
• Investigating and responding to security incidents, including triage, containment, root‑cause analysis, remediation support, and incident documentation
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and supporting remediation activities to reduce risk and prevent recurrence
• Acting as the PAM Champion, providing subject matter expertise across privileged access governance, design frameworks, tooling, and operational practices
• Partnering with internal IT teams and the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider to assess threats, respond to alerts, and maintain and improve security tools and defences, including participation in the after‑hours on‑call roster

Are you the one?

You’re a detail‑oriented, curious, and resilient security analyst who enjoys solving problems quickly and thoroughly. You’re comfortable working with security tooling and telemetry, can translate signals into action, and collaborate effectively with technical teams to strengthen overall security posture.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Security Analyst or Security Operations role
• Demonstrated expertise in Privileged Access Management (PAM), including design frameworks and tooling
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, NGAV, PAM, and IGA
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards including ASD‑ISM, NIST, and ISO 27001
• Ability to interpret system logs and correlate security data from multiple sources
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (preferred)
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are desirable but not mandatory
