What does the job look like?
The Inventory Manager is a key site leadership role, responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, strengthening inventory controls and supporting effective capacity planning in this high-volume, dynamic DC. This role plays an integral part in providing inventory and system integrity, enabling efficient resource allocation and throughput, and delivering confidence for our highly valued customer.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will lead two direct reports (Inventory Controllers) responsible for the accuracy of WMS inventory records across product quantities, locations, stock age, bond, remissions, breakages and production receipts. A key focus will be building team capability while ensuring the efficient and cost-effective receipt, storage, picking and despatch of goods. Key areas:
- Provision of a robust inventory management program, ensuring stocktake and cycle counts provide an accurate foundation for operational planning
- Proactive customer relationship management, including reporting and provision of technical inventory expertise to support superior service outcomes
- Coaching, developing and managing Inventory Controller capability to build a high-performing, accountable team
- Generate daily reconciliations, investigate and address variances, and rectify factors affecting inventory accuracy
- Develop and implement policies, training and procedures that strengthen compliance and promote continuous improvement

This is a pivotal role for an inventory and warehousing specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing technical expertise with people leadership. Working closely with the customer, the Site Manager and operational teams, you will use your inventory and systems knowledge to improve accuracy, capability and operational efficiency. You can demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience managing large, SKU-heavy inventory environments
- Strong computer literacy, with expertise across WMS and ERP systems
- Confidence leading, coaching and developing a small team, with a focus on capability uplift and accountability
- A process-driven, analytical and methodical approach, with the ability to influence stakeholders across operations and customer groups
- Experience developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across multiple functions
