Maintenance Planner SA/NT

Here at Linfox, we believe that together, anything is possible. We partner with some of Australia’s largest businesses to keep supply chains moving safely, efficiently and sustainably. Backed by industry-leading technology and a commitment to operational excellence, we provide rewarding careers where people can grow, contribute and make a real impact.

What does the role involve?

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced maintenance professional to join our Fleet team as Maintenance Planner SA/NT, based from our Wingfield site.

Reporting to the WA Service Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet assets remain safe, reliable and compliant across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Acting as the key link between operations, maintenance providers and fleet assets, you will coordinate maintenance activities, conduct equipment audits and oversee service delivery through our external vendor network.

This is a highly autonomous role that combines maintenance planning, technical assessment, stakeholder engagement and field-based inspections. While you'll spend time managing schedules and maintenance data, you'll also be regularly out on site inspecting equipment, working with vendors and supporting operations across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and coordinating scheduled servicing, repairs and compliance activities across a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers and transport equipment
  • Booking maintenance and repair work with external service providers and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to standard
  • Conducting equipment inspections and condition assessments to identify maintenance requirements and compliance risks
  • Managing maintenance schedules and tracking fleet activity through Excel-based planning tools and reporting systems
  • Travelling to operational, vendor and regional locations across South Australia and the Northern Territory to inspect assets and conduct equipment audits
  • Building strong working relationships with maintenance providers and holding vendors accountable for quality, safety and service outcomes
  • Monitoring repair progress, equipment downtime and maintenance costs
  • Raising purchase orders and managing maintenance-related administration and documentation
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company, industry and regulatory requirements
  • Providing technical advice and recommendations to support fleet performance and operational reliability

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems and being the eyes and ears of the maintenance function across a geographically dispersed fleet operation.

Are you the right fit?

We're looking for someone who combines strong mechanical knowledge with excellent planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

You will bring:

  • A Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Trade qualification (essential)
  • Experience within fleet maintenance, workshop operations, service advisory or maintenance planning environments
  • A sound understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance, compliance requirements and preventative maintenance programs
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities through external service providers and vendor networks
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manage spreadsheets, analyse maintenance data and track servicing schedules
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence using maintenance management systems and digital reporting tools
  • A practical and technically minded approach, with the ability to assess equipment condition and identify maintenance requirements
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise competing demands
  • The ability to work autonomously across multiple locations and stakeholders
  • A willingness to travel throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory, including regional and remote areas when required
  • SAP experience will be highly regarded

Most importantly, you're a self-starter who enjoys taking ownership, building strong relationships and ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant and operational.
